MercyMe
Bart Millard, from Greenville, Texas, had aspiration to be a football player, but after an injury to his ankles during his freshman year of college, Bart had to rethink his plans. He took choir as an elective and began to enjoy his new hobby.
Bart's former youth director had moved from Texas to Florida. He invited Bart to come work with his youth group's worship band. Bart accepted the invitation and at first assisted with the band's video and sound system. But one night, when a problem came up with the lead singer of the worship band, Bart filled in. James Bryson was also a member of this band and a friendship developed.
With friend and guitar player, Mike Scheuchzer, Bart and James moved to Oklahoma City and formed the beginning version of MercyMe. The trio lived in and set up a studio in an abandoned day care center. There's a unique story behind the chosen name, MercyMe. Bart's grandmother didn't really understand the whole idea of having a career as a Christian music band. Each time she saw him she would say something to the extent of, " Mercy Me, Why don't you get a real job?"
We'll, fans know by now, Bart's doing just fine. Last year's release of The Generous Mr. Lovewell has been a tremendous success. His songs , I Can Only Imagine and Word of God Speak will be remembered for generations to come. Going to a MercyMe concert is like going to a Spirit filled church during a revival. It's an inspirational and uplifting experience. Bart will also be the key speaker at each of these concerts.
Matt Maher
Originally from Newfoundland, Canada, this powerful Praise and Worship song leader has really made an impression on his American audience this last year. His song, Hold Us Together has such energy. He's passionate in his message that we all are one family in the body of Christ and that love should hold us all together. This combination of artists: MercyMe, Matt Maher and Jars of Clay will create an atmosphere similar to a Christian summer camp. Fans should come back from this concert charged and ready to take on the world.
Jars of Clay
This is one of the many Christian groups that have started out of Nashville, Tennessee. Nashville is no longer just the country capital of the world, but it is also quickly becoming the heart of the Christian music industry. Jars of Clay got their start in 1993. Their music is inspiring and they have been nominated for several Grammy and GMA Dove Awards.
A Concert Event Like No Other
This will definitely be a unique concert event. Everyone pays just $10 to experience a night of inspirational, praise and worship. Fans won't be disappointed. It's money well spent.
