Here's a little song that is beginning to climb up the charts simply because it's fun. MercyMe has stepped out of their normal of what fans usual expect from the group to create this fun little song called Move.
MercyMe continues to wow fans with each album they record. In 2007, All That Is Within Me gained mainstream attention with three singles from the album, God With Us, You Reign and Finally Home. In 2009, Billboard Magazine named MercyMe the Christian song artist of the decade for the 2000s. Their song, Word of God Speak, was named the Christian song of the decade. MercyMe has had a total of 23 number one songs as of the end of 2010, six of their songs ranked in the top 50 songs of the decade
I Can Only Imagine
In April 2009, MercyMe released the album, “10,” celebrating the 10th anniversary of the band’s career hit, I Can Only Imagine, written by lead singer, Bart Millard, in memory of his father. The single sold nearly 3 million units, and topped both country and christian music charts.
The Generous Mr. Lovewell
Last May, MercyMe released The Generous Mr. Lovewell. The idea behind it is a fictional character, Mr. Lovewell. He gets up every day and does random acts of kindness, and that kindness creates a ripple effect.
All Of Creation
Last year, the first single released from The Generous Mr. Lovewell was All of Creation. It's a song that speaks of everything and everyone coming together to praise and worship God. The lyrics convey a message that this is why everything was created, to praise Him.
Move
This newest single release, Move, talks about there will be brighter days. Jesus is coming. Hang in there. Be strong. Endure. Things may seem hard but keep moving. Hold your head up and press. There's going to be brighter days. Check it out.
Night of Joy
Once a year, Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, holds a fantastic Christian music weekend called Night of Joy. This year the dates are set for September 9 - 10, 2011. MercyMe will play both Friday and Saturday along with some big names : Newsboys, Skillet, Matthew West, Jeremy Camp, Francesca Battistelli, Group 1 Crew, Sidewalk Prophets and Disciple.
